Happy New Year!! It's been awhile since I've blogged. I mix of reasons attribute to being absent, but mostly I was have tech problems with my website and a security certificate that would not enable, and I know no one want to scroll through an unsecure site. But a few days ago I took one more shot at working with my domain folks and with some tweaks on things I know nothing about, we hit publish and then enable SSL and my heart almost exploded - it worked!!
I did a bit of a refresh on the site (it still needs work!!) and made myself a new logo. More work to come, but it feels so great to be able to see hopejoygolf.com back up and running and having the ability to type my thoughts. I'm trying to put direct links to some of the blog pages I have because my navigation menu gets lost over in the left hand corner. For the life of me I can't change the color. I have not been a loyal golf fan for a few years. Life has gotten in the way, but I've been able to play in a few scrambles with some great friends and I hope to do more this year. The first event on the PGA Tour was The Sentry in Hawaii and Hideki Matsuyama was our first winner, earning $3.6 million and 700 FedEx points with a whopping 35-under par for the 4 day event. There were no players over par and mid-field scores were around -16. Yipes! The Tour stays in Hawaii for another week for the Sony Open. This full field event has 20 of the top 50 players on the OWGR and quite a few Korn Ferry players and winners of events over the past two years. This would be a great opportunity to get an early win in 2025. And this reminds me, I need to get my fantasy golf plans organized! I've read the PGA Tour is going to have a new format, and I'm going to try to get back into Buzz Fantasy Golf with their free play model. Had I been more organized I would have done a league in their format but time got away from me. I'm looking forward to digging in and looking at the new players making headlines. And maybe I'll spend a little more time looking at the Senior Tour since some of my favorite players are having success there. I'm also going to go back into my own archives to reminisce on some of my old posts and thoughts over the years. Let's share the love of golf together!! Happy 2025 - see you again soon!!
