I love a great deal and a good sale!
I had just convinced myself that I didn't need any golf equipment this year when I ran into some struggles with a driver I had won last year - I knew I could go back to my old Callaway, but then talked myself into "just peeking" at what was out on Ebay. I know, I should be getting fitted and finding the right club for me, but I can't help it, price sometimes wins. My week of purchases included a Callaway RAZR X black driver, senior flex, 11.5 degree...I had bid on a few other drivers but when they went over my budget limit, I let them go, but then this one came up and only $72 later I was its new owner! Then came a new 5-wood - this time it was a new 18-degree Callaway RAZR Women's Flex. The opening bid was $7.50 so I put a limit of $30 on it and 3 days later I won the auction at $7.50!! With Shipping it was just under $20! I'm loving it! Now that I officially had the shopping bug I started looking at irons. I REALLY wanted Women's Callaway RAZR X black irons, but couldn't find what I wanted online (they are model from a few years ago). So then I started looking for other models that interested me and I browsed some Cobra's and Pings, but then settled on the Cleveland Mashies...there were several new sets available to bid on so I spent a day or two just watching some to see where they ended and then bid on a couple different sets before winning a 4-PW for only $166 with shipping! Add to that picking up a couple of used Titleist Wedges from a friend and before I knew it I've got a new set of clubs for the season! And if you know me, you know I love golf shoes! I don't need the newest or latest & greatest so I like to check out the clearance items on several sites - I was able to snag a pair of FootJoy Project M's for $39 and a pair of Callaway Classics for only $19.99 on Budgetgolf.com! Add to that some clearance FootJoy socks and a wind vest and I've got free shipping! I put myself on Golf Shopping probation for a week, but I may just have to do some browsing after I post this! If you're a sale shopper like me, be sure to do some surfing...sales are waiting for you!
