I cringed when I logged on on my web site to see how long it was since I had updated. Two months for general updates and 3 months for a blog post - geesh!! This is not new to me...it seems this time of year causes all kinds of distractions for me, and once I get out of a groove it takes me awhile to get back into it. But today, it's Sunday, I'm smelling the angel food cake I have in the oven and I'm on the sofa watching The Memorial! It's been awhile since I've watched golf on TV, but with Matt Kuchar in the hunt I'm excited about it!! So why not take some time to catch up on golf thoughts! I have some work to do to catch up on my Fantasy Golf Updates - I'm excited to report that I won the first segment with the crew, but this 2nd segment has been pretty brutal. There have been more than a few weeks where I was making picks in the middle of the night or just minutes before the deadline, and there were a few weeks where I would forget to check if guys had made the cut on Friday night. BUT...even with all that I'm hanging in on the Overall, but I need to get my heart picks going to catch up to Jeremy who is having a GREAT 2nd segment! I'm also behind with my challenge with Jeff, but with my 132 point head start (he's so kind!) I'm'still in the hunt there, too!
I will do my best to get my picks back out starting this week! In my golf world I haven't played too much yet this year and I was just saying that June has snuck up on me! The few times I have gotten out have been OK, but I've got work to do on my game! Some nagging low back issues are hampering some of my efforts, but all I need is one good drive to bring me back! Excited for 2 golf scrambles with friends this week! May even try to get a few holes in later today but I'm guessing our course is more than soggy right now. I have added only 1 pair of new golf shoes to the family so far in 2016, and while I had one sleepless night that had me going a little crazy on Ebay bidding on some fairway woods and even irons, thankfully I was outbid and came back to my senses. Via Twitter I found Vice Golf and ordered their sample pack golf balls...I will write a review soon!! Speaking of Twitter, I really do enjoy catching up on golf topics with some great people I'm following. I do try to read up some articles from the major outlets, but honestly, some of the topics haven't caught my interest. I've got some thoughts about some other golf thoughts out there right now and I will spend some time this week catching up on those. Just watched Matt double bogey - painful! Some other random golf thoughts before I go make some strawberry shortcake with my angel food cake! - I sometimes listen to PGA Tour Radio in the car...interesting commentary on golf etiquette earlier this week. It reminded me that the "golf experience" is so different for so many people. - On average, I hit 5 clubs more than most of my guy golf pals. - Can't believe I didn't write about the Masters!! - Still hoping Steve Stricker leaves me tickets for the Ryder Cup at Will Call in September!! PHEW...it just feels good to get a few golf thoughts down and now I hope I can get back into the groove again. THANK YOU for reading!!
